This gorgeous carving replicais of a hart at rest and taken from the main central carving on the Misericord with Dogs within the choir stalls of St. Laurence’s Church of Ludlow This misericord was carved in the mid 15th century between 1433 – 1470.
"Hart" is a historic Old English name for stag in a mature state. The Old English variants include heorot, herut, and hert.
The replicas are cast in resin and then stained and are virtually indistinguishable from the original wooden carvings.
Fitted with a D-ring for hanging the size is approx 180 mm wide by 200 mm high.
