Found by labourers digging in a field near Hounslow around 1864. Stylistically they are the earliest animal figurines found in Britain. Reconstruction to Prof. M. Jope's interpretation to include the spine missing from the original which may be seen at the British Museum. Probably originally served to attach the figure to a copper alloy vessel or helmet. 1st century BC.
