Stunning pewter replica of the gold buckle recovered in 1938 from the Sutton Hoo site of an early Anglo-Saxon ship burial from the 7th century. It is most likely the final resting place of Raedwald, King of the East Angles.
The buckle features a breathtakingly intricate design that is redolent of Frankish examples. It includes 13 intertwining creatures inlaid with niello (a black alloy).
